President Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s seat on the Supreme Court. If confirmed by the majority Republican Senate, Amy Coney Barrett will cement the conservative majority in the court, which will shape the future of healthcare law, abortion rights and many other decisions for generations to come. The confirmation hearings are set to begin October 12, and even though Amy Coney Barrett is likely to be confirmed, a political battle is expected to unfold. 

 

The Trump administration accused the chief executive of TikTok’s mother company, ByteDance, of being “a mouthpiece” for the Chinese Communist Party. The Department of Justice filed an explanation behind the Trump administration’s objective to ban TikTok. The Trump administration says that TikTok has given Americans’ data over to the Chinese government, but TikTok denies the accusation.
