Armenia and Azerbaijan Ceasefire: Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on a ceasefire on Saturday, October 10, following a dispute over control of the territory Nagorno-Karabakh. The territory is located inside of Azerbaijan territory but is under the control of ethnic Armenian forces. Azerbaijan has long claimed that it will retake the territory, which is controlled by Armenia, is internationally recognized as Azerbaijani. Tensions flared in July, but the dispute dates back to 1994.

Second Presidential Debate canceled following President Trump’s positive coronavirus diagnosis: On October 9, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) announced that the second presidential debate which was scheduled to take place on October 15 in Miami has been canceled. This is following disagreements between the Biden and Trump campaigns and the CPD regarding protocol for the debate following President Trump’s positive coronavirus diagnosis.
